Before you start your engine, keep these essential car care tips in mind. From packing smart to ensuring your vehicle is ready for the ride, trust us, they can help make the most of your trip (and you keep your cool on the road).

Tips from our Techs for Travelers

Let's ensure your car's safety with some key maintenance items before your road trip:

  • Perform a thorough inspection of your vehicle’s battery, engine, and tires. These components are crucial for a smooth and safe drive.
  • If you have any warning lights on, make sure to have a professional take a look at what's happening before hitting the road!
  • If it’s time, get an oil change before embarking on your road trip to keep your engine running smoothly.
  • Check all fluid levels including coolant, brake, automatic transmission, oil, power steering, and windshield washer. If needed, top them up.
  • Inspect and replace windshield wiper blades if they show signs of wear. Clear visibility is essential, especially during bad weather.
  • Examine the tread depth and pressure of your tires, making sure they are in good condition for the journey.
  • Ensure you have the necessary items for the unexpected! Check your car for jumper cables, your spare tire and car jack, roadside emergency kit, and extra fluids.

Remember: Being prepared can save you time and hassle on the road. (The holidays are hectic enough as it is.)
